Family Council
St. Luke Lutheran Community provides families the opportunity
to meet with families of other residents in the community through
regularly scheduled meetings in the community.
The frequency and agenda of family council meetings are defined
by the groups. St. Luke
Lutheran Community staff facilitates and assist with the logistics of
the meetings. The group
normally meets every other month to support each other, participate in
educational activities, and/or plan resident and family activities.
Gift Shop
The St. Luke Lutheran Community Gift Shop is located on the first floor
of St. Luke Home, next to the front desk.
All proceeds from the Gift Shop go directly to the home. Enjoy
the convenience of picking up a gift for your loved one before visiting.
The Gift Shop offers gifts for all occasions including:

Social
Services
The Social Service Department is an essential element in the care
of the residents in St. Luke Lutheran Home from the time of admission
until discharge from the facility. The Social Services department
is staffed with professional social workers licensed by the state of
Ohio Social Work and Counselors Board who follow the guidelines mandated
by the Social Work Code of Ethics.
The department assists with a variety of issues, which include

Each resident is assigned a social worker who is
trained in dealing with the issues identified above, as well as,
assuming other miscellaneous responsibilities. Generally the main
responsibility of the Social Service Department is to be an
advocate for the resident.
Therapeutic
Recreation
The
Therapeutic Recreation Department at St. Luke Lutheran Community seeks
to maintain a quality of life for residents through organized and
individual leisure pursuits. We
provide treatment services and recreation activities for individuals
with disabilities, illnesses, or other disabling conditions.
Our goal is to help individuals improve or maintain basic motor
functioning and reasoning abilities, and socialize effectively to enable
greater independence as well as to reduce or eliminate the effects of
illness or
disability.

Pastoral Care
The spiritual care and well-being of residents and staff are essential
to the mission of St. Luke Lutheran Community. The Department of
Pastoral Care ministers to the spiritual needs and religious expectations
of the whole community by offering a variety of services and activities
that strive to strengthen faith in an atmosphere of Christian love and
encouragement.
The Director of Pastoral Care serves as the community's pastor and
chaplain. Volunteers from local churches assist with the worship
services and other religious activities.
Traditional worship services are offered each Sunday at 10:15 a.m. and
2:00 p.m. Chapel services, including favorite hymns, Scripture
readings, a brief message and prayers are held Tuesday and Thursday
mornings at 10:30 a.m. The Waterford hosts a weekly Bible Study on
Monday afternoons. Holy Communion is offered the first Sunday and
third Tuesday of the month. Families and friends are always welcome.
The chaplain visits residents personally and offers spiritual support
to residents' families and staff.
Roman Catholic Mass, led by a local priest, is held the first Friday of
the month at 10:00 a.m. A Rosary group meets in the Chapel on Monday
evenings at 7:30 p.m. |
