A Message from the CEO

Greetings from St. Luke Lutheran Community!

Testimonials

As Chief Executive Officer of St. Luke Lutheran Community, it is my pleasure to welcome you to our website.

St. Luke Lutheran Community is a faith based, not-for-profit organization founded in 1954 by the Lutheran Women's League. Our moral owners are the 56 Lutheran churches in the greater Stark, Summit, and Tuscarawas county areas.

In North Canton, we are St. Luke Lutheran Community - North Canton, a ten acre campus which includes a 202 bed nursing facility with a 50 bed memory support unit, 33 assisted living units, and The Waterford at St. Luke a 68 unit independent living complex.

St. Luke Lutheran Community - Portage Lakes was established in 2004 and is a 56 bed nursing facility located on Turkeyfoot Lake. Portage Lake's small size promotes resident centered care which is the heart of the St. Luke mission.

Due to strong community support, we will be establishing a new St. Luke Lutheran Community campus in Minerva. We are currently exploring other outreach locations and services to our ministry and we will announce any plans on this website.

Our Mission statement is, "St. Luke Lutheran Community provides faith-based services to enrich the lives of older adults." This is a righteous and ambitious mission that continues to inspire and motivate all those who serve on behalf of St. Luke. Great challenges lie ahead in the future of care for older adults. St. Luke plans to meet these challenges with the same compassionate caring as we have for the last 54 years.

Thanks to all who support our important mission. We sincerely value your support and continued prayers for the St. Luke ministry.

Sincerely,

John L. Spieler, Dr.PH, FACHE
